This last week I managed to do two things:
1. Competing at the North Atlantic Regional Figure Skating Championships
and...
2. Returning to a lovely amount of school work that sat vacant in my hotel room
Since
I was 8 years old, I have spent my life in an ice rink. Now, as a
Columbia student I spend my life in the ice rink (Chelsea Piers Sky
Rink) and the Butler Library. Figure skating is a year round
spirt that requires a ridiculous amount of commitment, but what can I
say? I love it! Of course I did all the little routines
where I had to wear the huge pink tu-tu or the over-sized poodle skirt
waddling arond the ice amongst the adoring fans (aka my parents).
But when I was 15 years old I moved away from my family in Virginia to
skate in New Jersey with a new skating partner. In July (yes
July) I sent in my application to Columbia (GS) because the partner
didn't work out. I decided to keep skating, and now I'm here and
loving every minute!.....even the 6am practices in Chelsea...
New pictures are on their way!
